You see, despite the urgings to check the facts when looking for paid survey opportunities online many still jump in head first paying complete disregard to the chances they could be losing their money of personal information to scammers. The problem starts with the urge to want to hear how easy it is to make money.
It seems many love to hear that for little effort, one can earn x amount of dollars and surveys can certainly help you achieve this. However, for new people especially, many aspects are overlooked before they commit and consequently they will run into problems. 1. Bold claims are a dime a dozen but unfortunately, human nature is such that they like to hear them. If it’s too good to be true then take the hint and forget it. It usually is.
2. When assessing a survey opportunity always look for contact details on the site. Many experts suggest looking for a hone number and making sure you can connect with a live customer support person and this is usually a good rule of thumb. It will definitely eliminate many candidates. At worst, they should have a working email and give it a try. If you don’t receive a response within 24 hours move on.
3. Reviews are an obvious choice for clarification but beware, there are two types of reviews, those with a personal stake in the product being reviewed and the legitimate review. If a review is totally biased then sound the alarm bells but if it is well balanced, then it’s probably worth pursuing.
4. Bold guarantees are another trap. Ignore these because othewr than refunding your money guarantees really are useless in the survey field.
5. This brings us to our next red flag for avoiding survey scams. Paying money for information. You shouldn’t have to because it’s freely available. If you’re asked to pay a fee to actually take a survey then use your head; why pay for something which is supposed to pay you. Make sense?
6. Checking the credentials of a survey site with services like Whois and Quantcast is almost mandatory. If you see any anomalies then move on. Many scammers will hide behind proxy services. Again, use your judgment here; if there is cause for suspicion then the chances are probably solid that all is not right.
